During 2016-17, in accordance with the recommendation of the Coordination Committee of the LSGD, Government issued Order No. 3119/2016/LSGD dated 17-11-2016 for using the shredded plastic in polymerised road construction and allowed the Local Governments to procure, install and operate plastic shredding machines. Government in GO (Rt) No. 1641/2017 dated 19/05/2017 accorded sanction to the Local Governments to procure shredding machines from the CKCL using Plan funds. The shredded plastic was collected and sold by the Company to the Contractors involved in the road construction works of PWD and LSGD.
