Rebuild Kerala is a State Government initiative aimed at rebuilding roads better after the floods. High quality and durable road infrastructure is a pre requisite for social, economic and industrial development of any state. As a part of Rebuild Kerala Initiative, Government have constituted the Project Management Unit (PMU) for the reconstruction of damaged road assets.

The CKCL is authorized to collect E-Waste generated in Government offices and public institutions and safely dispose it following due process. The recyclable and non-recyclable non bio degradable waste also collected and disposed by the CKCL. To make the Government offices and public institutions clean and hygiene the waste generated in each and every office can be removed on a weekly basis. To begin this process a Material Collection Facility can be established in the Government office complexes like Government Secretariat, Vikas Bhavan, Swaraj Bhavan, Public Office in Thiruvananthapuram, MLA Hostel, Legislature complex and Collectorates in all Districts on a pilot basis. These facilities could be managed by the CKCL by engaging an activity group selected from among the Kudumbashree members. For collection of waste from households and commercial institutions the Local Self Governments Institutions are empowered to collect user fee. Following this concept, the CKCL can also collect user fee from the Government Offices and other public institutions. The user fee can be decided based on the size of the Office (plinth area occupied) and number of Officers and staff working. The bio degradable and Non bio degradable will be segregated and bio degradable send to the community waste management center maintained by the LSGI and non-bio degradable send to RRF for processing. To set up the facility –MCF- the Estate Officer of the concerned Office complex has to earmark a space and facility will be created by the CKCL.
